UPenn Professors, Culhane of SP2 and Fantuzzo of GSE, Receive $1.4 Million from MacArthur Foundation

Today’s Almanac announced the $1.4 million dollar MacArthur grant to Dr. Dennis Culhane and Dr. John Fantuzzo for the advancement of policy-based research. With their research, Dr. Culhane, the Faculty Co-Director of the Cartographic Modeling Lab in the School of Social Policy & Practice (SP2), and Dr. Fantuzzo, the Albert M. Greenfield Professor of Human Relations in the Graduate School of Education (GSE) have contributed both locally and nationally to improve the service of public agencies to their diverse populations. The Center is fortunate to have experts in the Penn community, like Dr. Culhane, who studies homelessness and housing policy, and Dr. Fantuzzo, who specializes in early childhood education, to lay the research foundations for the kind of data and policy analysis needed to achieve real social impact.
