UPenn School of Social Policy & Practice: One of 16 schools to receive $10,000 grant from the John A. Hartford Foundation

September 3, 2009

The School of Social Policy & Practice has received a 2-year, $10,000 grant, along with a matching donor contribution, for the creation of the Penn Aging Concentration (PAC). This new program, set to begin in the Fall of 2010, will focus on addressing the social work and policy needs of the nation’s aging population. In the Center’s first study, I’m Not Rockefeller, released in September of 2008, we interviewed 33 high net worth individuals, 9 of which were 60 years of age or older. Given the increasing number of individuals in the United States over the age of 60, the ongoing focus on the “Baby Boomer” generation also calls attention to future giving trends. We welcome your thoughts.
